07, 2002 @ 0424 YOUR INFORMATION IS NOT FOR SALE We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information, such as name, e-mail address, physical address, phone number, etc. without your permission. Your information stays here, period. You do not have to worry about receiving unsolicited e-mail from other companies or individuals as a result of being listed on the DeKalbHighSchool.com web site because you list only what you want. We may, on occasion, send out an e-mail announcement to inform our members when we add a major new feature to our web site. OUR USE OF YOUR E-MAIL AND/OR ADDRESS INFORMATION We reserve the right to use your e-mail and/or address information to advise you of any situation that may arise out of your use of the DeKalbHighSchool.com web site. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: responding to your questions, resolving problems with profile. If we ever offer a newsletter, we will allow you to "opt-in" (it is up to you to subscribe to receive it). We will also e-mail all members at least once. LINKS TO OTHER WEB SITES (DOMAINS) When we link our web site to other web sites (domains); we attempt to only do so with companies who will also respect your and our privacy. However, we are not responsible for the content or privacy standards used by them. COOKIES AND COLLECTION OF IP NUMBERS At this time, DeKalbHighSchool.com does not use cookies on the DeKalbHighSchool.com web site. Some approved advertisers listed on the DeKalbHighSchool.com web site may use cookies; however, they are not sent any information from your profile or use of this web site. We may collect your IP address for smoother ease of navigation for you. IP addresses are only recorded when you do one of the following:
COLLECTION OF INFORMATION BY USER (MANUAL INPUT BY USER) When you list your profile, we collect information from the user via manual input by the user to the extent of which they feel comfortable to enter. Our system will add the date and time to each profile when it is submitted. Items listed in the "Questions for DeKalbHighSchool.com Staff" will NOT be visible on the web site for others to see. We also collect the IP address and note the date and time of all profile entries. The IP address is collected for verification and security use only. If fraudulent profiles are entered into our database, we can use their IP address to assist in tracking down the people responsible. By doing such, we provide for a safer Internet community. (Fraudulent entry of profiles may constitute "theft of services." and may result in other criminal and/or civil prosecution - This does not include simple mistakes.) COOPERATION WITH UNITED STATES LAW ENFORCEMENT We will cooperate with proper United States law enforcement officials and agencies to prevent fraud and to help catch any user committing fraud via our web site. If a fraudulent user is or appears to be outside of the United States, we will provide assistance via a United States federal law enforcement agency. A properly issued United States Court Order may cause us to disclose member information. LOCAL COLLECTION OF COMPUTER INFORMATION We collect NON-USER SPECIFIC details when you visit our home page or any "hot-to links" (tracked home pages). This is used to better design our web site and to see how effective our sales marketing and advertising are. This information is usually only kept for two (2) months, but may be kept for up to seven (7) years. As stated above, we do NOT sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information. DeKalbHighSchool.com IS "SPAM" RESISTANT With our advanced database system, Internet Search Engines, can not search our database. Therefore, it is also more difficult (if not almost impossible) for spammers to collect e-mail addresses from our web site. They would have to manually go into each state, year, class, and classmate to get anything. It is just too much hassle for them. This is also why we have not provided an internal site search engine. We feel that it would lead to abuse. NOTICE OF CLASS UPDATE OR INFORMATION We reserve the right to use your e-mail and/or address information to advise you of your class reunion(s) and who in your class is: Having a Birthday, Getting Married, Having a Baby, Getting Divorced, Having an anniversary, Deaths/Funerals, Moving to a new address, Getting a new phone number, Hosting a Classmate "get together" or such an event, Taking over the task of setting up your class reunion, Taking over the task of maintaining the files of your class, and/or any other information that we feel may be of interest to you. If we determine there to be a large amount of mail/e-mail, we may, at our option, send out a weekly, biweekly, or monthly newsletter. * Keep in mind that if such information is listed as private, we will notify you for your authorization to send out (See above). (This is not an option for deaths/funerals listed with any news media) We do not and will not sell or rent your information to anyone or any company.
